The Impact of Work-Life Balance on Mental Health and Job Satisfaction: A Comprehensive Review and Meta-Analysis
Abstract
Achieving a balance between work and personal life has become increasingly challenging in today's fast-paced society, with implications for both mental health and job satisfaction. This comprehensive review and meta-analysis examine the impact of work-life balance on mental health outcomes, including stress, burnout, depression, and anxiety, as well as its influence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Drawing from longitudinal studies, cross-sectional analyses, and qualitative research, the review synthesizes evidence on the relationship between work-life balance initiatives, flexible work arrangements, and psychological well-being in the workplace. Additionally, it explores potential moderators and mediators of the work-life balance-mental health relationship, such as gender, caregiving responsibilities, and organizational culture.
