The Role of Mindfulness-Based Interventions in Mental Health Promotion: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Abstract
Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) have gained increasing attention as promising approaches for promoting mental health and well-being across diverse populations. This systematic review and meta-analysis examine the efficacy of MBIs in improving mental health outcomes, including stress reduction, anxiety management, and depression prevention. Drawing from randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses, the review synthesizes evidence on the effectiveness of various MBIs, such as mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), in different settings and populations. Furthermore, it explores potential mechanisms underlying the effects of MBIs on mental health and identifies factors influencing intervention success and sustainability.
