Abstract

Anxiety disorders are prevalent mental health conditions, and mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) have emerged as promising approaches for their management. This meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigates the effect of MBIs on anxiety symptoms and severity. Drawing from a systematic review of the literature, the meta-analysis synthesizes effect sizes from RCTs examining various types of MBIs, such as mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). Additionally, it explores potential moderators of intervention efficacy, including intervention duration, frequency, and participant characteristics, to elucidate factors contributing to the variability in outcomes.
