Abstract

Environmental justice is a critical issue in public health, as marginalized communities often bear a disproportionate burden of environmental hazards and pollution. This review examines the concept of environmental justice and its implications for public health, focusing on disparities in exposure to air and water pollution, hazardous waste sites, and industrial facilities. It discusses the social determinants of environmental health inequalities, including race, socioeconomic status, and residential segregation, and explores strategies for promoting environmental equity and community empowerment.
