Abstract

Rapid urbanization is associated with various changes in social and environmental factors that can influence mental health outcomes. This review examines the impact of urbanization on mental health, including the prevalence of mental disorders, access to mental health services, and social determinants of mental well-being. It discusses the mechanisms through which urban living may contribute to stress, anxiety, and depression, such as social isolation, overcrowding, and environmental stressors. Additionally, the review explores policy implications and interventions aimed at promoting mental health in urban environments.
