Abstract

Urbanization has led to increased stress and mental health issues among city dwellers, highlighting the need for accessible green spaces. This systematic review examines the effects of urban green spaces on mental health and well-being, including stress reduction, improved mood, and enhanced cognitive function. It synthesizes evidence from various studies evaluating the psychological benefits of spending time in nature within urban environments. The review also discusses the potential mechanisms underlying these benefits and offers recommendations for incorporating green spaces into urban planning to support mental health.
