Telemedicine and Healthcare Technology: Expanding Access to Quality Healthcare
Abstract
Telemedicine and healthcare technology have emerged as transformative tools in expanding access to quality healthcare services, especially in remote and underserved areas. This paper explores the principles and applications of telemedicine, including remote consultation, telemonitoring, and tele-education, in delivering timely and efficient healthcare interventions. Key topics include the integration of telehealth platforms with electronic health records (EHRs), regulatory frameworks governing telemedicine practice, and the adoption of mobile health (mHealth) technologies for patient engagement and self-management. Additionally, the paper examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms in enhancing diagnostic accuracy and personalized treatment recommendations. By synthesizing empirical evidence and case studies, this paper aims to elucidate the potential of telemedicine and healthcare technology in improving healthcare access, reducing disparities, and enhancing patient outcomes.
