Abstract

Food security is a pressing global issue exacerbated by climate change, which poses significant challenges to agricultural production, distribution, and access to nutritious food. This paper explores the impacts of climate change on food security and examines adaptation and resilience strategies to mitigate risks and enhance food availability, accessibility, and affordability. It discusses the importance of diversified cropping systems, improved water management, and resilient agricultural practices in building adaptive capacity and reducing vulnerability to climate-related shocks. The paper also highlights the role of social safety nets, market interventions, and policy frameworks in promoting food security and fostering community resilience in the face of climate variability and extreme weather events. By adopting integrated and holistic approaches, stakeholders can address the complex interactions between climate change and food security, ensuring sustainable livelihoods and well-being for vulnerable populations.
