Abstract

Urban agriculture is gaining momentum as a means of enhancing food security, promoting sustainable urban development, and fostering community resilience. This paper examines the challenges and opportunities of urban agriculture in meeting the dietary needs of rapidly growing urban populations. It explores various urban agriculture practices, including rooftop gardens, community gardens, and vertical farming, and their contributions to local food production, job creation, and environmental sustainability. The paper also discusses policy frameworks, land use regulations, and community engagement strategies aimed at supporting and scaling up urban agriculture initiatives in cities worldwide.
