Abstract
Agricultural biotechnology holds tremendous potential for addressing global food security challenges through the development of genetically modified crops with enhanced traits such as pest resistance, drought tolerance, and increased nutritional value. However, the widespread adoption of biotech crops raises ethical, environmental, and socioeconomic concerns. This paper critically evaluates the promises and concerns associated with agricultural biotechnology, including its impact on biodiversity, farmer livelihoods, and consumer acceptance. It discusses regulatory frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and public perception campaigns aimed at promoting informed decision-making and responsible biotech adoption in agriculture.
