Abstract

Food supply chain traceability is essential for ensuring food safety, quality, and transparency from farm to fork. This paper examines the challenges and opportunities associated with traceability systems in the food industry, including regulatory requirements, technological innovations, and industry standards. It discusses the role of traceability in mitigating foodborne illness outbreaks, enhancing product recall processes, and building consumer trust. The paper also explores emerging technologies, such as blockchain and RFID, for improving the efficiency and reliability of food supply chain traceability systems.
